The Outpatient Cardiac Surgery Follow-Up Clinic was established to provide follow-up care for post-operative cardiac surgery patients. The clinic promotes rapid follow-up for cardiac surgery patients who have been discharged, and require urgent care.
Specific Services Offered
Patients are seen and assessed for the following:
- Shortness of Breath/Xray
- Pleural thoracentesis
- Fluid volume assessment
- Blood work follow up/check
- Echocardiagram
- Post op incision/wound assessment & treatment
- Medication adjustment
Preparation for Visit
Please note that due to the high number of patient visits to our hospital every day, you may experience clinic wait times and a delay in finding parking. We encourage you to arrive early and allow for extra time on the day of your appointment. If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, the appointment will be rescheduled to another day. We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience and understanding.

- The Cardiac Surgeon’s office and the Integrated Care Coordinators.
- The Integrated Care Coordinators through the Cardiac Surgery Bundled Care Program
- At request of the Surgeon or NP upon discharge from the Cardiac Surgery ward.
