Nursing Graduate Guarantee (NGG)
supports new registered nurses (RNs) and registered practical nurses (RPNs) who are within 12 months of registering with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO), by providing them with a temporary full-time employment opportunity.
About NGGInternationally Educated Nurses (IENs)
To get started, eligible nurses must first visit the NGG online portal and register as a Nursing User. Once registered, you will then be able to apply to posted positions on the NGG portal.
About IENsCommunity Commitment Program for Nurses (CCPN)
provides $25,000 in grant funding over the course of two (2) years to eligible nurses in exchange for a two-year commitment to an eligible employer.
About CCPNInvesting In Our People (IIOP) - Critical Care Nursing
We are currently looking to expand our expertise in the area of Critical Care and are recruiting qualified registered nurses (RNs) for our Critical Care Certificate Program by paying for tuition and supporting their time while they participate in the Investing In Our People (IIOP) program. This 11-week program is in collaboration with Michner Institute.
About IIOPNEW GRADUATE GUARANTEE (NGG)
Trillium Health Partners is a proud participant of the Nursing Graduate Guarantee (NGG) program.
The Nursing Graduate Guarantee (NGG) program is funded by the Ministry of Health and supports new registered nurses (RNs) and registered practical nurses (RPNs) who are within 12 months of registering with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO), by providing them with a temporary full-time employment opportunity, to improve their transition into practice and into full-time employment.
The NGG program aims to:
- Support new nurses in Ontario as they transition into practice
- Improve the integration of new nurses into the workforce
- Promote the availability of full-time employment or the equivalent of full-time hours for new nurses; and
- Promote health workforce planning at the organizational level
Trillium Health Partners supports participants in the NGG program by:
- Providing the new nurse with general orientation to the organization;
- Allowing the new nurse to gain consistent knowledge on organizational practices, policies and standards;
- Ensuring that a learning plan is developed by the new nurse and mentor;
- Meeting the goals of the learning plan by including various teaching strategies and delivery methods to educate on competencies, as it relates to the area/unit of employment of the new nurse.
Canadian educated nurses may be eligible to participate in the NGG program if they:
- Graduated with a bachelor degree in nursing or a diploma from a practical nursing program in Canada;
- Match with an employer on the NGG online portal within 12 months of registering with the CNO; and
- Commit to accepting full-time employment or the equivalent of full-time hours with their NGG employer after completing the NGG program transition into practice period.

INTERNATIONALLY EDUCATED NURSES (IENs)
IENs may be eligible to participate in NGG program if they:
- Have completed their nursing education outside of Canada;
- Match with an employer on the NGG online portal within 12 months of registering with the CNO; and
- Commit to accepting full-time employment or the equivalent of full-time hours with their NGG employer after completing the NGG program transition into practice period.
Qualified IENs are encouraged to apply for positions available through the Nursing Graduate Guarantee program.
IENs may be eligible to apply to our Enhanced Extern Program (EEP) if they have initiated registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO), have received a CNO letter of direction and meet one of the following:
- are a nursing student in their fourth year of study in a CNO approved program, such as a BScN-IEN program, PN-IEN program, or;
- are completing a micro-credential plan with a curriculum to meet the CNO requirements for registration (e.g. Standards of Practice for Nursing, Entry-to-Practice Competencies, Evidence of Safe Practice, Evidence of English Language Proficiency), or;
- have completed their educational requirements (e.g. BScN-IEN/PN-IEN program or micro-credentialing) and are waiting to write their registration exam.

COMMUNITY COMMITMENT PROGRAM FOR NURSES (CCPN)
In an effort to attract registered nurses (RNs), registered practical nurses (RPNs) and Nurse Practitioners (NPs), the Community Commitment Program for Nurses (CCPN) provides $25,000 in grant funding over the course of two (2) years to eligible nurses in exchange for a two-year commitment to an eligible employer.
Trillium Health Partners is proud to take part in this program. Please let your recruiter and/or hiring manager know if you are eligible to participate and we will submit an application to the CCPN for approval if hired into a full-time position no later than March 31, 2025.
To be eligible for the CCPN, a nurse must:
- Not have been employed as a nurse in Ontario in the six months prior to being hired;
- Hold a Certificate of Registration in good standing from the College of Nurses of Ontario;
- Begin employment no later than March 31, 2025;
- Commit to two-years of employment at a full-time work schedule offered by the employer; and
- Not simultaneously receive funds from the Ministry of Health for Tuition Support
INVESTING IN OUR PEOPLE (IIOP) – CRITIAL CARE NURSING
THP’s Critical Care areas accept eligible NGGs as potential candidates for the IIOP Program. The program is designed for RNs with a desire to learn and advance their skills and accepts both internal and external applicants. On completion of the Critical Care Certificate Program, participants will have foundational, theoretical and practical critical care knowledge and experiences for a successful start as a novice critical care RN.
Critical Care Program Overview:
- Online and in person learning
- Virtual classes and asynchronous online learning through Michener Institute
- Hands on clinical practicum (part of Michener critical care course requirements)
- Small group simulation-based learning and skills building
- Supportive learning environments
- Clinical placement facilitated by experienced critical care nurses
- Dedicated critical care nurse educator and program leadership to ensure learner success
- Mentorship opportunities
