Peritoneal Dialysis Clinic Hours:

  • Monday to Friday (excluding holidays): 8:00 am to 4:00 pm

After Hours:

  • Monday to Friday excluding Holidays:   4:00 pm – 10:00 pm

Problem Solving Guide

Wait Until Morning and Contact Clinic Nurse for:

  • Bowel issues                                                        
  • Supplies
  • Fibrin in bag                                                         
  • Difficulty draining or filling
  • Target weight adjustments                               
  • Programing adjustments
  • Questions related to Clinic appointments
  • Bloodwork results
  • Scheduled surgical procedures or dental work

If Unable to Complete Your Treatment:

  • Close the clamp on your tube
  • Turn machine off
    • Wait until morning to Disconnect or wait for Homecare if applicable and contact your Clinic Nurse

Machine Issues:

  • System Errors or frequent alarms please call Baxter Help Line (1-800-553-6898)
  • If unable to resolve with the Baxter Help Line, close the clamp on your tube, and turn off your machine
    • Wait until morning to Disconnect or wait for Homecare if applicable and contact Clinic Nurse

Please proceed to Credit Valley Hospital Emergency Department for the following concerns:

  • Cloudy effluent (disconnect during a dwell if able while on dialysis)
  • Tubing separation (apply white emergency clamp)
  • Signs of Exit Site Infection: redness, swelling, pain or tenderness, discharge or pus, fever
  • Wet dressing or leaking at exit site
  • New abdominal pain with or without fever
  • Genital swelling
  • Low blood pressure or high blood pressure that does not get better with treatment
  • Bloody bag with or without belly pain
  • Blood in urine or stool

Call 911 for:

  • Chest Pain                                                                
  • Un-resolving Shortness of Breath
  • Low or High Blood Pressure with Dizziness, Blurred Vision or Slurred Speech
