Pre-Printed Physician Orders (PPOs)
A preprinted physician order is a tool to assist the practitioner in choosing the most appropriate care for the medical management of a patient.
A PPO often accompanies a Clinical Pathway or a Clinical Practice Guideline.
The use of PPOs is recommended in the literature to minimize communication system errors.
