This past year marks another outstanding year of generosity and achievement at Trillium Health Partners Foundation, with a remarkable $112 million raised from our loyal and generous donors. This includes a historic $53.7 million in cash contributions – the highest amount of revenue ever raised in a single year since the Foundation’s inception and a major milestone in our growth. This extraordinary result is a testament to the outstanding support we have received from generous friends across our community and beyond, reflecting gratitude for the exceptional care provided by the hospital at all three sites.
With Trillium Health Partners facing more future demand than any other hospital in Ontario, our successes highlight the pressing need to expand and modernize our facilities to ensure quality health care for our growing community. Major projects underway include building Canada’s largest hospital, the future home of The Peter Gilgan Mississauga Hospital; the major expansion of The Gilgan Family Queensway Health Centre; and building Ontario’s first ever women’s and children’s hospital, to be known as the Shah Family Hospital for Women and Children. In addition, significant philanthropic investments were made both towards high-impact research focused on improving the health care system, and to provide essential lifesaving equipment.
Your generosity ensures Trillium Health Partners can continue to build a new kind of health care for a healthier community.
Two Transformational Gifts Leading the Way
Last year’s remarkable achievements included an extraordinary donation from the Shah Family Foundation that will name the future Shah Family Hospital for Women and Children. This visionary first-of-its-kind hospital in Ontario will provide leading-edge, interconnected care to ensure the well-being of both women and babies, addressing historical gaps and introducing a new model of excellence in Ontario. With more babies born at Trillium Health Partners than any other hospital in Canada, this transformational donation from the Shah family will benefit millions of children, women and their families for generations to come.
Another outstanding contribution came from Brent and Jodie Cator and family, long-time donors to the hospital, who made a $10 million donation to help build the future home of The Peter Gilgan Mississauga Hospital. In recognition of their generosity, they have named the leading-edge Cator Family Diagnostic Imaging Program across all three of sites at Trillium Health Partners. Their generosity, inspired by many personal experiences with the hospital, will also support advanced new equipment and innovative processes for faster, more precise diagnoses. The Cator family’s philanthropy will also help increase the Cator Family Diagnostic Imaging Program’s footprint by a massive 66 percent at the new hospital.
Our Selfless Donors Investing $1 Million or More
We are also proud to recognize generous donors who made gifts of a million dollars or more last year. This list includes the CIBC Foundation, which supported the hospital’s Institute for Better Health; the Gus Karamountzos Family and Obsidian Group Inc.’s gift to help fund cardiac care at the future home of The Peter Gilgan Mississauga Hospital; and a gift from Shahid Khawaja Real Estate & Nasima Foundation to support the Muslim Community’s $5 million pledge for the new hospital. Additionally, we celebrate cumulative giving that passed one million dollars by the Mississauga Fire Fighters Benevolent Fund. Thanks to these generous contributions we can continue to support excellence and innovation at the hospital, ensuring every patient receives the best possible care.
Investing in State-of-the-Art Equipment
Ongoing donor support allows us to invest in leading-edge medical technology and equipment, essential for diagnosing and treating patients across all three hospital sites. In the past year, significant investments were made that include high-tech infant bi-level ventilators that assist a baby’s breathing; a new mammography imaging system for our regional Cancer Program; and an electroencephalogram machine to test for potential brain disorders, including epilepsy. Thank you for supporting frontline care at the hospital for so many patients in need.
Looking Forward: A New Kind of Health Care
Trillium Health Partners remains committed to bold health care innovation, ensuring that our growing population receives the care they need today while advancing transformative health system change for the future. Just some of our changes will include the radically expanded future home of The Peter Gilgan Mississauga Hospital, a new tower to consolidate rehabilitation and complex care at The Gilgan Family Queensway Health Centre and building the forward-looking Shah Family Hospital for Women and Children, a first in Ontario. Our vision at Trillium Health Partners is to create a more interconnected health care system that works for everyone – a vision made possible only thanks to the extraordinarily generous support of donors like you. As we reflect on our collective success, we express our deepest gratitude for your record levels of support and eagerly anticipate the impact of your generosity as our major projects transform health care to benefit our entire region. Thank you for making a difference and for all you make possible for Trillium Health Partners, our patients and our extended community.

Signature Events
Throughout the year, a variety of events provided many different opportunities for our community to support the hospital. The second edition of the Hazel McCallion Walk for Health raised an impressive $750,000 thanks to over 2,300 highly engaged participants and numerous sponsors, honouring the legacy of Hazel McCallion and her unwavering support of the hospital. The sold-out Trillium Diwali Gala, always a crowd favourite, raised a record-breaking $1.2 million, thanks to matching funds from the Orlando Corporation, bringing the cumulative total to almost $14 million over the last 22 years, a remarkable achievement. Our annual Golf Classic and Women with Drive events brought together dedicated golfers for friendly competition, camaraderie and fundraising, despite unpredictable weather conditions.
Community Events & Initiatives
Enthusiastic community partners continued to organize and host their own fundraising initiatives for the hospital, with over 100 held throughout the year. Notable fundraisers included the Swing for the Cure’s 18th Annual Golf Tournament which reached a record-breaking fundraising goal. In addition, the Royal Canadian Legion branches of Port Credit, Cooksville and Streetsville, supporters of the hospital since 1983, continued to raise funds through their annual Poppy campaigns. We extend our sincere thanks to all organizers and participants for their initiative, time and generosity.
