Faculty Appointments
Physicians who wish to teach University of Toronto medical students at Trillium Health Partners need a faculty appointment with the University of Toronto.
Faculty appointments are facilitated by the Education Office for physicians supporting teaching within the Mississauga community. The process and requirements for a faculty appointment can be found on the university’s Clinical Academic Appointments website.
Faculty Development
The Office of Faculty Development, MD Program, offers a variety of opportunities to help medical educators prepare for their teaching roles in the University of Toronto MD Program.

Canadian Residency Matching Service (CaRMS)
Trillium Health Partners is committed to the future success of all medical students. CaRMS is a national service organization that provides fair and transparent application and matching service for entry into postgraduate medical training throughout Canada. A key component of the CaRMS application is letters of reference from physician preceptors. Any teaching physician may be approached to write a letter of reference for our medical students. To support physician preceptors and our medical students, a CaRMS Physician Toolkit is available. The toolkit provides critical context on how to effectively support our students through the residency application process and in particular, on how to write effective reference letters.
